Re: Ray's Performance Tonight
I saw a plethora of mixed reviews from the Jets site. This one guy, Dinobot 2, has some sort of needless hate-on for Ray. Other people are saying to give him a chance. My prognosis is that he sticks as third string.

Re: Ray's Performance Tonight
Diesel and I(CFL/NFL fan) were attempting to explain Ray to those morons like Dinbot 2 but all they do is bash the CFL - typical yanks - the way they go on you would think Chad Pennington was SB MVP last year - I hope they cut Ray.The most consecutive playoff years ever!!!!

Re: Ray's Performance Tonight
Dino is a real piece of work all right. If you want to know how the jets will win the superbowl it's easy, just ask him.
However I noticed a few more people are giving RR credit for showing improvement. In a poll put up by Dino right after the game (should we cut RR pt2) over 50% replied to "no, shut up dino"I will not, for a moment longer, support an organization who chooses to cowardly kneel where they once fiercely & proudly stood

Re: Ray's Performance Tonight
By the sounds of it through Ray didnt even get much of an opportunity to throw the ball, a lot were handoffs to the RB. I seen a few highlights and he looked alright out there, he did get sacked but I would of had to blame that one on the OL from what I seen.
Ive read those forums and what bugs me the most about them is the fact that people like that dinobot guy trash our CFL when he probably hasnt watched 1 entire game, to many of them have the philosphy that if its not the NFL its not good enough to watch.

Re: Ray's Performance Tonight
That kind of bothered me, too. It's almost as if the coaching staff either has no confidence in him, and is afraid he might throw multiple picks if given the chance to throw, or they don't really have him in their plans, and he's merely a fill-in for Bollinger and/or until they sign a vet backup. What does he have to do to get a legit chance?By the sounds of it through Ray didnt even get much of an opportunity to throw the ball, a lot were handoffs to the RB.
And what further reinforces this is the fact that he hasn't been given time with the first team offence, whereas Bollinger has. This tells me that Ray is, at best, a third-stringer in their minds. He could change their minds if they let him, but it doesn't sound like he's getting that legitimate opportunity."The longer that I'm married, the more I realize that the wife is right" - Angelus, July 24, 2010

Re: Ray's Performance Tonight
hopefully BB stays out of action for awhile.....could be all RR needs, either to jam his foot through the NFL door or find out that he's meant to be up here. Before you insult a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, when you insult him, you'll be a mile away, and have his shoes.

Re: Ray's Performance Tonight
I think Ray secured the number 3 position, at the least after this performance. That said, he hasn't been given a fair shot....very disturbing to see.
What might have helped out RR cause was the fact that the game was on national tv (ESPN). Scouts probably saw the game, and likely saw something in Ray. If he gets cut from NY, I'm sure some other team will lock him up.
You have to wonder why Ray signed with NY, when he could have been in a much better position in Miami or Arizona

Agreed. Although I'm sure the signing bonus he received had a part in that...You have to wonder why Ray signed with NY, when he could have been in a much better position in Miami or Arizona"The longer that I'm married, the more I realize that the wife is right" - Angelus, July 24, 2010

Re: Ray's Performance Tonight
People like him are so content in their little "we're the best" bubble. I was in the States last year and met this guy who swore up and down that the only CFL player to ever play in the NFL was Doug Flutie. He was quite simply CLUELESS, but as arrogant as they come. Those morons don't have a clue how many guys in the NFL have been in the CFL and vise versa, they only know/understand what is fed to them through the American media and that means NOTHING about the CFL.Originally posted by PhrostBy the sounds of it through Ray didnt even get much of an opportunity to throw the ball, a lot were handoffs to the RB. When they start comparing NCAA football to CFL football, their extreme ignorance really shines through. Those people (many who even live in Canada) are so narrow-minded and bull-headed are impossible to get through to, it's really almost a waste of time.
That's why this is so tough. I want to see RR stick and succeed in the NFL to shove yet one more "told you so" abotu CFL players in those clueless people's faces. Then again, I'd be happy to see him back here, where there are some teams hurting for QBs (namely Calgary).
