    The walk of shame...

I'm currently living in Winnipeg and decided that, despite it being Canada Day and there was partying to be done around the city, it was my duty to head down to Bomber Stadium and cheer on my Esks. I knew that the Bombers had put together a pretty decent team this year but was extremely optimistic that the Esks would get the job done. Esks Fans are a bit rare here in Peg City, and I must say that I was a bit embarrased to be seen wearing my green and gold after that atrocity of a football game Saturday night. The Esks just don't lose like that. I've been attending Eskimos games (both in Edmonton and abroad) since 1998 (the Kay Stephenson era) and that was without a doubt the worst excuse for a football game I've ever seen in person.

I'll be home in Edmonton for the rematch with the Bombers and the tilt with Montréal, and I must say that things had better improve. The defensive secondary looked like a rusted out seive, and the receiving corps was jogging their routes without any sort of will to make a play. Something needs to be done, but I'm just a spectator and not a coach.

Yeah it's one thing to be in enemy territory and have your team lose but when they get spanked and put up no resistance it's tough to take.
