We need a new holder for field goals

Jason Johnson can't handle the snap and couldn't hold it right. This is the second time this year Jason Johnson cost us the field goals including the game-winning goal. The first one was Sean Fleming was about to convert the field goal but Jason Johnson let go of the ball before Fleming could kick it I think LOL . And last night was the second one. So I think it's time to switch the holders.

    anyone agree with me ????

Jason Johnson will probably be here for a few years, and he'll get better, he's made some costly mistakes, but in the end, I support him.

I hate to agree with Numberz, but its true.

I remember Maas messing up his first year as well (A game I Hamilton comes to mind for some reason).

This is just another example of what happens when there are too many changes from experienced guys to non-experienced guys.

I mean, really, how many game winning field goals has Johnson held before last night.

      My guess would be.......ZERO!

Feel your frustration , but IMO the kicking team has seen enough change already with a new snapper. QB's are used to handling the ball and most times these holds are automatic. Better time mgt. by the coaching staff could have gotten a second crack at .

JJ is doing fine. Who would you want to replace him? A newbie who would mess with the timing Fleming and JJ already have? This area will improve.

There may not be a good alternative but he has been a bit shaky all year really. No excuse for botching that play last night, your concentration level should be very high for a critical play like that.

My guess would be that you are wrong. JJ held throughout college for FGs. So it isn't new to him.

Looking at JJ is only looking at the surface of the problem. There was a reason Fleming was upset with the change at snapping and we just saw why.

Again, that was a DM change.

Funny how in one thread JJ can have the finger pointed at him, and in another thread it was all DM's fault.

The snap was fine. JJ just missed it. Even Fleming came out and said that Maurer's snapping has been better in games than it was originally in practice.

In this game there were a few long snaps at RRs ankles. Someone mentioned it in the gamethread.

As well, we don't know if the snap was fine, it may have been early. JJ is the easy person to blame.
