    In contrast to DDS's post.................

34 years of playoffs? Wow, amazing streak, best in professional sports and it will be impossible to beat.

Sorry folks, but I find it ironic other teams fans are making fun of our streak coming to an end.

How many playoffs years did their teams make the past 34 years?

Come on Gizmofan! Dig up the numbers! Lets see the playoff records for the past 34 years for the other CFL teams.

I know, I was expecting this loss so I am not too pissed.

I'm pissed at the attention Gass is getting.

This is exactly it. You're going to get dumbasses from other boards trolling, laughing and pointing this thing out for the next week. I was ready to accept the loss and look forward to next week but now we're going to have the angry dickhead mob to deal with.

We all know that they only come here because they are jealous of our franchise's success in history and in any way, shape or form they will always try to ridicule us for every little thing that goes wrong. It's what you get when you have been champions so often in history. You just have to let them have their cheap thrills and then laugh to yourself when you compare our franchise's overall success vs. theirs.

It really should have ended with the 6-12 team. This team is far better than that one.

5 replies to my thread? Why does negativity always get more attention?

I am proud of the 34 year record.

Thanks Beerfish, is that the number of times they missed the playoffs or made the playoffs?

Number of times in a row they have made the playoffs. Here is the made/missed stats.

                    Edmonton: 34-0
                    Hamilton: 26-8
                    Winnipeg: 26-8
                    B.C. 25-9
                    Montreal: 24-10
                    Toronto: 20-14
                    Calgary: 18-16
                    Ottawa: 18-16
                    Saskatchewan: 15-19

Montreal and Ottawa are a bit skewed as I counted the years they were out of the league as not being in the playoffs.

I would not get to a head of your selfs yet. I still think there is a chance seeing is how winnipeg has 5 games left 2 against montreal one again bc, cal, ham. So if they only win one game and edmonton can beat toronto, sask, ham, and either montreal or sweep the toronto series or the season series with sask they will be in the east. Not to mention sask sched is not that easy either. Esks still hold there destiny in there own hands they are lucky that winnipeg is strugling. We just need to stop with the stupid big plays that we love to give up.

It is only a 8 or 9 team league with the exception of the US teams when it was as high as 14 so the record though great isn't that fantastic. If the team made the playoffs in the NFL for 34 years in a row then that would be awesome.
If we were put on this earth to help others, what were the others put on earth for?

I respectfully disagree. We didn't just roll over and it's not over yet. The three key games were tonight, in BC, and vs Winnipeg. All three of those were games we could've or should've won. It's not like they've been getting their butts kicked week after week, giving up after the first quarter. Even on Labour Day, they were still in the game with a few minutes left in the fourth quarter.

I think the stars are just not aligned this year for the Mighty Eskimos. Luck is part of the game and they've had NONE this year. Of course there have been a lot of deficiencies and costly mistakes that have made the season what it is, but they certainly haven't rolled over. It prob doesn't help that all non-Esks fans want to see them lose just as much as their own team win.

I will be at the last game of the season and I will applaud the guys for a season that had me on the edge of my seat more often than not, just rarely with the outcome I wanted. I have nothing but respect for these guys and any REAL fan should too. IF the streak ends and we miss the playoffs (I still do believe, personally), the guys in the Esks locker-room will be more upset than all of us fans combined. The team is full of vets who have given so much to this city on and off the field over the past few years. They deserve respect regardless of how the season ends.

Obviously it's "easier" to make the playoffs in an 8 or 9 team league, but the odds of doing that 34 years in a row are still pretty low and it's still a very impressive record. Nobody should take that away from the Eskimos Football Club.

i think even some of the team members will admit they are not playing to their full potential this year ,after watching some of the beatings ricky ray has taken this year i can say i definetly respect him and every player that straps on the pads ,i will never question that this is a mans game
