    Hemsky underwent surgery this morning

    November 17, 2006
    Staios, Hemsky miss skate

Steve Staios and Ales Hemsky did not skate for the Oilers Friday.

Staios had a day off after suffering a charleyhorse. Hemsky had surgery on an in-grown toe nail this morning.

Both are expected to play Saturday night against the Red Wings.

Ouch, I've played with that before. Not fun at all.

    Hope it isn't infected.

My bad, I had read that but for some dumb reason posted that anyways.

I thought it was going to be some satire - saying he had the tendons in his arm which made it easier for him to pass were adjusted to allow him to shoot the puck more easily.
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

ditto.. i've had them tons... it seems its just how my nails grow - so my only option is to have the Nails completely removed - and I mean removed so they'll never grow back..

I've had the nail removed before... and man.. when they have to cauderise (sp) the toe nail bed with silver nitrate -i've never felt anything more painfull in my life.

For me it got to the point where they cut about about a third of an inch of the nail away and put some sort of acid so the nail would never grow back. That was about 5 years ago and no problems since.

And yeah the freezing hurt like a you know what but the worst pain I've had was when they had to work on my teeth for like 5 hours. My mouth as wide open as it can get for five hours. Very sore jaw.

You guys realize that any women on this site who have had children are not gonna be too sympathetic with you, right?

                      True.
Well if I ever get a kidney stone (which I hope I never, ever, ever, ever, ever get) then I might have something of an idea of what they have to put up with. Its good to be a guy!

I always mention to women that I've got sisters with more than one kid. Friends with more than one kid. A wife with more than one kid...
But I got hit in the nuts once with a frozen tennis ball and I never want that to happen again...

And I read one of Andrew's posts once and I never want to do that again. Talk about painful.

I've had one in-grown nail and the surgery was nothing compared to what I went through to stop snoring. In fact, the toe stuff wasn't even painful.

I had my tonsils and almost everything else lasered out of my throat. That was the most painful thing I ever had done. I was on Tylenol 3s for at least four weeks. And eventually they didn’t even work. According to the doctor this is one of the most painful surgeries out there.

Tonsils? You know there are grade school kids laughing at you right now.
