    McGeough strikes again

MONTREAL - Red-faced and boiling hot, Jacques Lemaire did his best to bite his tongue Wednesday night. But the Wild coach said more with few words than he could with a lot.

"I understand why coaches get fined $10,000, but what they're saying, they're right," Lemaire said after a 4-2 loss to the Montreal Canadiens, a game in which referees Mick McGeough and Wes McCauley made a week's worth of bizarre calls and noncalls.

Lemaire's words came moments after he stomped off the ice while eyeballing the routinely controversial McGeough, the same referee who triggered an angry outburst from Oilers coach Craig MacTavish after a loss three weeks ago because of a call the NHL admitted McGeough erred on.

Lemaire's comment came moments after assistant coach Mike Ramsey was ejected for sarcastically clapping at the refs following Michael Komisarek's empty-netter.

The comment came while General Manager Doug Risebrough was on his cell chewing out an NHL official regarding "the performance" of McGeough and McCauley.

"This year, we did what we were supposed to do. We fought as a team. We fought as a team. And the fact is, we gotta go back and go to work, to make sure we finish this next time. That's all we gotta do. This right here makes us stronger. Let's understand who we are as a team. Let's understand this right here makes us stronger." - Ray Lewis, January, 2012.

They won't fire him they'll just make sure to give him all the important playoff games. Or they Might promote him

There must be an NHL conspiracy against Minnesota.

Someone needs to channel Schoenfeld and his classic rant....
Look. We can go round and round about this all the live long day. Let's keep it simple. I embody amazement. Can you dig on that? Good. Then meet me on the corner of rock and roll, and bring a flask of something that burns.

The fact that there is TWO examples of different teams, both of which point to the incompetence of Mick McGeough, actually strengthens Mac T's comments.

I ref basketball and it isn't an easy gig folks... that said if I blow a call I'm also the first guy to admit it. The player/coach might still be sorely pissed at me .... but they respect/appreciate the honesty!!
At that level mistakes can happen too..... but they oughtta be few and far between. The fact that this bozo has made multiple bad calls tells me the guy needs to be sent/slapped down to be 'seasoned" and is incompetant at that level. If the league doesn't do something about guys like that EVERYBODY is gonna suffer... especially this guys peers!!

The evil side of me kind of hopes he blows a call, and it works in Edmonton's favor.

Evil side?? Who am I kidding? I'm all evil.
