yeah the Chorley part was pure gold...i laughed out loud at that.

Once again, he didn't clear anything up...all I would like to hear him say is "my family did not like edmonton so I had to do what was right and keep them happy" instead he "niether confirms nor denies" any rumors which only leads to more rumors and contempt.

Also, he seemed really happy that the news of his trade demand was leaked to the press instead of him saying it up front, if he was really a man he would have owned up to making a mistake and not saying up front what he truly wanted.

He is a douche bag. Ya its his right not to say anything about why he left.. But with him not saying anyhing - it just proves to me the reason he left was one hell of a stupid reason..

Either his wife was a balls hording C**T, or perhaps he couldn't hack being the center of attention. I can't recall if he was in he spotlight ,as much as he was here, in his other stops in the NHL. I recall always hearing Chris Pronger and the Edmonton Oilers.

I think I finally have the answer to the burning question as to why the guy left. A friend of mine has been tight with the organization since the glory days (he was a stick boy, dad did maintenance work for Northlands. Now he does maintenance for Rexall.) and knows a lot of the past and present Oilers quite well. According to what the Oiler players have told him, Prongers wife did catch him cheating 2 separate times during the year last year. SHE is the one who started the pregnancy rumors amongst player wives to get back at him. SHe laid down the law at the end of the year that she was leaving and taking the kids with or without him. The players hold no grudges against Chris as he never wanted to leave.

I've heard tons of good stories about the glory years. Apparently Mess was right screwed up on coke most of the time, Andy swung both ways, Lumley was a pathetic drunk, etc. I can share a few of them if anyone is interested. Trust me, this is good insider stuff.

The look on his face when he talked about how much fun it was here last year. Kid in the candy store type grin. BTW I think Christy is smokin' but her voice peels the paint off my walls. The Calgary girl is hot too.

I didn't bring up Cocoa because that one is common knowledge. According to my buddy all of the old Oilers were into the coke to some degree or another, including Gretz. The best coke story I've personally heard is from back in the glory days. Slats was giving his pre-game speech before a home game against the Blackhawks. Mess was sitting in his locker stall with his head in his hands hyperventilating like he was getting pumped up for the game. Slats leavs the dressing room, Mess looks up and says "...who are we playing again?"
