    Could have put this in the 'Other Sports' forum, but since LaForge is mentioned in the article, I thought I'd post it in here.

    I have to give props to LaForge for actually listening to the fans, and bringing them up as a reason why the schedule needs to be changed.

    Burke's reasoning is idiotic. Always thought he was an incredibly smart man... until now.

    And Bettman's playoff proposal is just another example of why this idiot should NOT be a part of the NHL and should have stuck to basketball. I have the feeling when he's trying to come up with ideas and solutions, he pulls out his NBA Handbook.

    He's trying to out David Stern David Stern. But remember we could still have Gil Stein, John Ziegler or the corpse of Clarence Campbell running the show.
    There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

      I'm up for any schedule that makes those Eastern ******* teams travel as much as their western counterparts.

        I am just pro-seeing good players, and for some reason most of the exciting young players are in the east right now...See: Ovechkin, Crosby, Malkin and Kovulchuk...

          My main issue is that look how many times we play Vancouver this year, and then check out the fact that there are some teams we don't ever play once.

          With an 82 game schedule, you should play every team twice (1 home and 1 away)....

          that's 30 - 1 = 29 * 2 = 58 games

          Of the remaining 82 - 58 = 24 games, you can play each team in your division an additional 6 times (6 * 4 other teams)....

          There you have an extremely fair and balanced schedule.

          I don't see what the problem is to adopting something so simple.....COME ON BETTMAN, get to work.....

          Interesting that it was the Riders who moaned and bitched for a salary cap, and since a cap was put in place for them, they only years they've won they broke the salary cap rules.
