Oilers/Sharks, this one could get ugly

Well, news on the injury front is that Steve Staios didn't take the morning skate; team 1260 is reproting he has a severe case of the flu and is unlikely to play tonight.

    Yup.

    Hejda - Smith
    Roy - Bergeron
    Greene - Gilbert

How do you spell **** show?

That said, there's a few positives, mainly...

San Jose sucks at 5 on 5 offense (63 goals puts them 24th in the league, behind Philadelphia).

Milan Michalek is questionable. Given he's playing Raffi Torres, I can't see him showing up anyway

    But..

We need a Festivus miracle 3 weeks late along with the Hockey Gods smiling on every shot the Oilers take and Roloson pretending it's Round 1 against Detroit.

BTW, I'm putting the over under for the combined minutes that Bergeron, Smith and Hejda play tonight at 85.5 and taking the over

What? You don't like the MAB - Roy second pairing? Hedja playing his 14th (?) game becoming our #2? What's the worst that could happen.

          Tonight?

We'll be watching this game wishing that we had Crossanov back in the lineup.

There's two possible scores in this game from where I'm sitting.

6-1 Sharks. Oilers get scored on early and often.

5-3 Oilers. Roloson plays out of his mind and the PP clicks while the D keeps it simple (read: traps).

Well...the bookies disagree with you. The total is set at 5.5 with the favorite being under.

I thought there is no fav's in over/under, the line is set so both odds are the same

Interesting... I'm really tempted to run out and play a proline tonight. Just seems like a night where a bunch of weird crap could happen.

I'd personally be shocked if this one was a low scoring game. O/U's are generally pretty predictable in hockey too, and usually there's only a 5.5 U favourite when it's Minnesota/Vancouver playing.

I suppose they're banking on the Oilers playing a hard trap tonight, which is very likely.

Edit: Ang I'm seeing the Over being hit like a Thai Hooker at 60% and sitting at 1.55 odds on WCLC.ca. Most sites seem to have the under at -105 and the over at -115... but I'd guess that'd be before Staios coming out of the game? Either way, it's pretty insignificant and I'm hitting the over on my proline.

Of course, I'm also taking Edmonton, Chicago, Pittsburgh and St. Louis; along with the Over in the Panthers/Penguins game.

                            Pays nearly $1,000 on a $5 bet ;]

Pays $654.65 , unless you take over on the Oilers game then its $961.25

I'll go make that same ticket
