I say yes. I gave him a long leash this year. But he and his coaching staff have brought a team that seemed to have almost everything going for it to total mediocrity.

-just under .500
-nightmarish powerplay
-Roloson on pace for 70 games when he's never played more than 50
-insert excuse

I could be wrong. I accept that. What do you think? I'm fed up.

They should have been turfed. The should be turfed. But it won't happen now. No way does the EIG pay for two coaches for the next 2 and a half years.

Besides, why don't we give the team legitimate personnel before we fire the coach? Say... a defenseman who doesn't get benched in favour of Matthieu Roy and a defenseman who isn't Matthieu Roy? Sound good?

It's way OT.. but what the **** were they thinking? Remember when we had Kick Start My Heart? Why'd we even change it? Can we go back? Or Welcome to the Jungle? Or Fuel? Or.. pretty much anything that isn't a ****ing pop song?

Agreed. I vote they bring back the pyro while they're at it, too (sparks from the top of the rig, etc.).

As for the coaches...I would have nothing against it, except for a) the added costs, as Baron said, and b) who do we replace them with? Who's out there that we could use?

I dunno, mate. I just dunno. One night they lose and it's the end of the world, one night they win and it's all golden, then they lose and it's the end again....or take 3 in a row of one and then 2 in a row of the other....

This team has guys that are part of the future playing now, while guys that are part of today are playing like they are part of the ECHL.

This team has serious issues on the PP.

Hemsky stirs the drink, no doubt.

But.. what the ****. Can anyone explain how on earth the #1 unit tonight was not:

Smyth - Horcoff - Hemsky
Sykora - Bergeron

Because, I can't. I can't see any reason those weren't the 5 guys on the ice for the #1 PP. Sykora is the natural option to be on the point there with Stoll out, and Horcoff is far and away the next best player to have on the PP with who was in the lineup tonight.

Second unit should've been:

Thoresen/Winchester - Nedved - Pisani
Winchester/Petersen - Smid

I just don't understand how they could've come up with any other alignment. At all.

I don't know either. But in any case, with every alignment, our PP plays scared. As long as other teams pressure the puck our PP fails. It's too damn easy for them.

Ya but did you see them put Toby out on the #1 PP? The decline can't last too much longer with that stud anchoring the PP blueline.

BTW anyone remember how the Atom team MacT coached did during the lockout year?

#20 hasn't been that bad. He put in 17 minutes tonight.

But there are factors other than "we have injuries", "we ran into a hot goalie" etc etc etc.

Our problems are really systemic, I think.

#20 getting 17 minutes and 1st unit power play time is a pretty good indications of our core problems.
