... some rumors are starting to swirl that the deal has been agreed upon, but the Oilers are waiting to see where they stand at playoff time and may deal off Smyth (with his consent) to a contender for a playoff run and assets, and then bring Smyth back in the summer for the same contract, ala Doug Weight.
