"This year, we did what we were supposed to do. We fought as a team. We fought as a team. And the fact is, we gotta go back and go to work, to make sure we finish this next time. That's all we gotta do. This right here makes us stronger. Let's understand who we are as a team. Let's understand this right here makes us stronger." - Ray Lewis, January, 2012.

That would sure help out our defence a lot. Wasn't Hatcher hated by us oiler fans when he was a member of the stars. I would rather not deal Lupul myself.

If this happens, thank the CFRM morning sports guys. They said today that Lupes is secure in Edmonton. Kiss of death, I tell ya.

I'd puke a bit in my mouth the first time I saw Hatcher wear the jersey.

That said, Pitkanen.. and just for Lupul and Gilbert?

            http://www.hockeysfuture.com/prospects/andreas_nodl

Nodl is a 3-4 year project that looks like he could be on the second line eventually.

Touchstone posts rumors over at oilfans.. he's naileda few early, including Avery this season and Samsonov last season, though he's also jumped the gun early a few times..

                You may now flame.

Just got off the phone. His network is not prepared to break the story without further confirmation.

It's not dead - but doesn't look like it's gonna happen...

I was so excited too. Value even seemed right.

                Damnit.

For the record Ang, he has broken a few trades early, so he's not say.. Eklund

I'd definitely take that deal although I'd give something extra so we don't have to take Hatcher.

Touchstone is no more credible in my mind. He likes to talk a big game but usually nothing comes to fruition with the crap he spews. This latest thread is a perfect example.

This rumour would be more plausible if nutty Bobby Clarke was still running things in Philly. Hatcher would be little more than a slow-footed salary-dump by the Flyers at this point. Also I really question why a Flyer team that needs to rebuild would get rid of Pitkanen.

Well, it made sense just because Lowe tried to sign Hatcher after the lockout and taking his contract (which should have a value of probably a negative first and second round pick, given some of the other contract dumps) would get a guy like Torres out of the trade as well.

Bah. That I was so excited to see something

Oilers in hunt for defenceman, wins

It's no secret Lowe is in the market for a puck-moving defenceman and probably has been since he traded Chris Pronger to Anaheim last July.

Adrian Aucoin, who plays the power play and in short-handed situations for Chicago, is that type of player and boasts a rocket shot. According to reports, he is also someone Blackhawks GM Dale Tallon is willing to deal.

However, most teams likely would consider the 11-year veteran Plan B behind Boston's Brad Stuart and Philadelphia's Joni Pitkanen, both of whom have been linked to the Oilers in trade rumours.

I don't think Touchstone is great - but he's done pretty well on deals that he's said are a done deal, the only one that I remember him blatantly screwing up was Joseph - which apparently was all but faxed until Phoenix suddenly demanded that Schremp be added to the deal.
