I'd take him back for $2.5 million per for maybe 2 years. I'll take a pass if he's looking for more than $3 mil.I thought I wanted a career; turns out I just wanted paychecks.

He'll score you goals but that money may be spent better elsewhere. I think we will have to bite the bullet and overpay for defensive help and Sykora very well may be a victim of that unless he is willing to take less then I think he is worth.Quote from Inquiring Mind:

No more than a two year deal under any circumstance, even if we have to pony up a bit more for a shorter term. We are already tied to some longer range deals I'm not totally happy with. I would like him back though, we have no scorers hardly at all and Sykora is one of the few guys that shoots the puck.Comment

I'd have to agree with the above consensus, no more than a two year deal (this guy does not play well on deals in excess of 2 years) for 2.3-2.5 mil per year. He should be able to afford the pay cut since he won't be shelling out to an agent.

3 yr. $10 M would be good. We can prolly sign him cheap because of the bad season he's had, but I think he'll come to form next season.Comment
