Will Lowe Keep All the Picks or Trade?

The Oilers have the 6th, 15th and 30th picks in this year's first round of the NHL entry draft. They also have 2 selections in next year's first round.

Think that we'll be using them? Will the Oilers build through the draft or trade for a run sooner rather than later?

2 weeks this Saturday.

Normally I'd love to talk Oilers but after this crud year I could care less about them right now. Football is the only thing that should be concerning everyone.

I'm actually excited to see what happens at the draft and seeing what kind of deals KLowe can swing.

Since when are drafts exciting. And with Lowes recent deals I will hold my breath.

Maybe it's just me but I don't usually get pumped about hockey until October.

Since when are drafts exciting. And with Lowes recent deals I will hold my breath.

This draft is more exciting than usual with three 1st round picks including the 6th overall. I guess you have to somewhat know who the top draftees are to get pumped about it. I wanna see if we grab Alzner, Ganer, Voracek, Cherepenov, or if we package something together to get an established player.

It's exciting because the Oilers have a unique opportunity to turn their team around in a short period of time. They have lots of valuable assets to leverage for good roster players. Or they can choose to build through the draft, or a mix.

But the odds are that the Oilers will trade one or more of their picks along with players to improve the team substantially in the short term.
