Re: Ward Leaves Falcons to Coach Bruins
Can't blame him, the Oil tried to keep him in the system when they bailed on the roadrunners, can't expect the guy to put his career behind other people's plansI will not, for a moment longer, support an organization who chooses to cowardly kneel where they once fiercely & proudly stood

Re: Ward Leaves Falcons to Coach Bruins
I can understand the reason for doing this as an NHL coaching job is something that you don't get offered everyday. That being said doesn't look great that you take the headcoach job the couple of months ago and then leave before doing any work so to speak.A lot of people go through life doing things badly. To be fair, they have been developing Bucky into a coach for years now, pretty much since he retired from the NHL. Word on the street is that is has exceeded everyone's expectations in this regard.Originally posted by Beerfish View PostThis is good news for the Oilers in my opinion.
Gack! Sounds from other sites that Buchberger is the guy to take the job. Oh well, the good news didn't last long.
Please don't be one of those who thinks the Oil went down a list to find the next member of the boyz club who didn't work for the Oilers. Re: Ward Leaves Falcons to Coach Bruins
In that case he should have been chosen over Ward. As for the other bit. When the Oilers make ANY hire outside the old boys club then fans can look at it differently. Is Buchburgers coaching resume better than anyone else out there? If so I have no problems with the hire.Originally posted by Ol' Jase View PostTo be fair, they have been developing Bucky into a coach for years now, pretty much since he retired from the NHL. This has been in the works for a while.
This one statement really indicates that it is part of the old boys mentality if it has been in the works for a while.

Re: Ward Leaves Falcons to Coach Bruins
Whether as an assistant or a replacement, I think Rob Daum might be someone else to consider.
He did a decent job down in Houston for Minnesota's farm club, and assuming he doesn't come back to UA I'm pretty sure he doesn't currently have a job anywhere. We're cheering Fight Fight Fight On Eskimos...
