What I'd like to see tomorrow...

Minnesota (CP) - Wild forward Derek Boogaard was released from hospital last night after brain scans came back negative after he was struck in the face by a shot from Oiler's Sheldon Souray in last night's Wild-Oiler game. He will be back in the line-up for Minnesota's next game.

"We came to the realization that getting in front of Sheldon's shot is the hardest hitting presence we have right now," Craig MacTavish said. "We needed Sheldon to step up to the challenge, or rather step into it. It worked out as we planned."

Although Boogaard will be fine, Colin Campbell has confirmed that the NHL is looking at the hit again, and wondered if the puck should be suspended for leaving the ice to make the hit.

In a statement, Campbell wrote: "They (Pucks) are stronger, faster and in better shape than in the past. If we have to make a statement here, we won't hesitate."

As for player reaction, Wade Belak was incensed with the hit.

"It's hard enough to compete with living bodies for my job," Belak fumed, "now some inanimate object is doing it. I'll be talking to the PA about this."

    Am I asking too much?

I'd rather it hit him about 3 and a half feet lower, cracking the cup and impaling him...
"This year, we did what we were supposed to do. We fought as a team. We fought as a team. And the fact is, we gotta go back and go to work, to make sure we finish this next time. That's all we gotta do. This right here makes us stronger. Let's understand who we are as a team. Let's understand this right here makes us stronger." - Ray Lewis, January, 2012.
