6-7 years with salary commensurate with expectations given age? Absolutely.

If it were say, 6-6-5-5-4-3... then it's a cap hit of 4.83 the whole way through. He likes it because he gets more money up front (real vs nominal), Oilers like it because it keeps his cap hit low.

What really blows my mind? That the people who were elated about the Souray signing are saying you can't pay Horcoff anywhere near what you're paying Souray. Both UFA's, but one is younger, more effective, can actually play defense against players who names most of Rexall recognize....
