Ethan is on After-Hours now, ripping the call

The showed the replay over and over, and Ethan asked, "Did you see a trip there?, Nope, what a way to end an game." The Av fell or dived at the net.

I sort of missed it, but I think he said the ref apologized for the blown call.

With all the finger-pointing tonight, really the Oilers played a solid game. Budai came up big, Rolie played fine too.

A crap call decided the game. They were already down a man, the next one should have been a good one.

Too bad I missed it. Good for him for telling it like it is.
I officially retract my vote for DDS as Prime Minister. He's clearly incompetent.

Another example of a ref calling what he thought he saw versus calling what he actually saw.

You just knew something was going to happen when Horcoff muffed the chance at the empty net - the karma was not good. Then again, should we be expecting anything less from Shawn these days?

It was a terrible call and good on Ethan for saying what he did.

I don't disagree that Horcoff is struggling. Neither does PDO for that matter. But the venom directed his way is pretty ridiculous. PDO has put out enough information to make it pretty clear that he's doing the right things fundamentally. So is Cole for that matter. Gagner as well. The pucks just aren't going in right now. They will.

If Horcoff had "made a move" and lost the puck, all the same people would be calling for head for "trying to be too pretty."

Good point - the way things are going for him now the best strategy was to simply shoot and hope for the best. Maybe we should be saying "great play by the Av D-man"

tough game by the oil, horcoff needs to score with the net empty simple and the game is done and they dont give away 2 points to the avs ... there is so much that is wrong in oil country right now ... how long does tamb wait ???

                There we go.

Plays like that happen about once a week.... it absolutely sucks when it happens to you, but **** happens.

I mean, can you imagine the out rage if he winds up to take a clapper and shoots it over the net? Or, what if, he goes to deke.... and the puck jumps on him? That's never happened in Rexall, right Patrick Stefan?

                  Fully agreed.

I mean, the time that the 4-6 goals are scored takes up... what, 1% of the game? Pretty sure the other 99% isn't filler, and helps lead up to the first 1% . Sucks when you can't buy a bounce.... but over an 82 game schedule, there's gonna be times where it happens. There will also be times where the puck goes in no matter what you do. It evens itself out in the end.

Right now there are 29 players in the NHL shooting over 20%.

I'll bet anyone here $100 that there will not be 10 players (who have played 50+ games) that do that at the end of the season.

Similarly, I'll lay down the same bet on Horcoff. Anyone up for it..

If he plays 50 games, he'll finish with a S% above the 8.3% it is right now.

Anyone? $100. C'mon. He sucks. No finish. No hands. Third line center. He really is this bad!!

Stefan's was at the other end. Good point, though.
