    Official deadline thread...

    Figured we may as well have one as all hell is on the verge of breaking loose.

    Apparently the Ducks/Bruins have agreed to a deal in principle on Pronger. Pronger and Moen to Boston for Stuart, Colbourne and a 1st.

    How embarrassing is it that that is almost better value than Edmonton got?

    Metropolit claimed by Montreal, Vaananen by Vancouver.

    With Moen as an add-in, that deal is no where near what Edmonton got.

    Bruins absolutely fleece Ducks if this is true.

      Actually, apparently the Bruins have a roster player in here as well.

      Sean Avery to be put on recall waivers on Monday. 1.9 cap hit for the rest of his contract... Oilers would be insane to not put in a claim.

        Are you ****ing kidding? I'd boo Avery every time he touched the puck. Not because of the Phaneuf thing. That was actually damn funny. Just cause he's such a self-centred prick who brings issues to every dressing room.

          He's doesn't seem to be on the best of terms with the league right now, but for 1.9 I really wouldn't mind him here.

            1.9 million for a guy who can score 20, is fantastic in his own zone, isn't a dirty hockey player, and drives the other team insane.

            Yup... I'm on that like a fat kid on cake, or the 250 lb bitch that just used the staff washroom for 20 minutes on the toilet...

              For as much as I hate Avery the person, I'd think long and hard about bringing him in. He might just be the kick in the ass that this organization needs. The only thing that scares me is the length of the contract. Three years is alot of time to carry a contract if he doesn't work out.

                Bill Guerin was pulled from the Islanders lineup prior to puck drop. Apparently waiting on the finalization of a trade.

                    In a perfect world I'd love to see the Oilers ship Horcoff, Moreau and Penner out of town. The reality will be that we ship out Cole, as he's a UFA. Hopefully we get more than a bag of pucks.

                            Looks like there's going to be alot of action before deadline day this year.

                            And apparantly I heard Guerin would only waive his NTC for an eastern team.
                            But I wouldn't mind him with the Oilers. He's still got some miles left and he's a gritty player.
