And the new parts are to be inserted here....no innuendo intended

New Oilers to lace up against Senators tonight

    By Joanne Ireland, edmontonjournal.com

OTTAWA — Ales Kotalik slipped into his new jersey, the one with the number 21, then headed out for his first spin with the Oilers.

Right behind him was a very tired Patrick O’Sullivan, who got into Ottawa just in time for a quick practice and a quick systems meeting.

The two will be in the lineup tonight when the Oilers play the Senators. Kotalik will play with Ales Hemsky and Shawn Horcoff. O’Sullivan (No. 19) with Marc Pouliot and Andrew Cogliano. Liam Reddox, Robert Nilsson and Steve MacIntyre will be the scratches.

“It’s a little bit of an unknown going into the game tonight, but it’s going to be exciting preparing for the game,” said coach Craig MacTavish. “We really don’t know what’s in the package until we open it up tonight when the puck drops.”

O’Sullivan flew in from Los Angeles, ending his ties to the Kings after Wednesday’s trade deadline day dealings. Kotalik had been a Buffalo Sabre.

“I got in an hour before I went on the ice. I’m pretty exhausted. All I can think about is having a nap,” O’Sullivan said before heading back to the hotel. “I think the guys here will make it easy for me.”

“He’ll be running on adrenaline, as will Ales,” said MacTavish. “But we tried to impress upon them how important every game is. We need a good effort tonight.”

Kotalik and Hemsky played together for during the 2006 Winter Olympics, and there have been a few other occasions when they’ve both been in Czech jerseys.

“We have chemistry off the ice, that’s for sure,” said Kotalik. “We’ve been friends for a long time. He’s one of the best players in the league and I’m excited to get a chance to play with him.”

I can't see O'Sullivan logging a lot of minutes tonight, he's gonna be skating like he has sandbags strapped to his legs. Our first line should be interesting with Kotalik & Hemmer playing together though. I have high hopes for that line tonight!

Does this mean Sam is with 27 and 34?

That actually is a fantastic spot to have him in imo....
