Oilers @ Mtl. - Game Thread

Well, we're down 1-0 already. That ice cold case of beer courtesy of PDO is starting to taste mighty good already.

4 shots in the first 3:30 of the 2nd period....not watching the game, just following the stats on ESPN GameCentre, but it looks better so far.

Absolutely dominated Montreal in the second period.

Like I said, something is rotten there.

BTW, how many times is Kovalev allowed to slash someone before it's a penalty?

Sully has his first point as an Oiler... Kotalik is leaving a lot to be desired, but I'm liking Sully quite a bit. Reads the game very well in his own end....

I think the Habs had more shots on that PK than the Oilers did the PP

****ing pathetic bunch of gutless retards.

Christ. Way to fold like a cheap tent in the third YET AGAIN. And nice to see that our powerplay is useless without Souray on it.

What happened to Souray and how the **** was that a goal?

Nice call on Montreal's third goal - when I played hockey they called that directing the puck in the net with your glove, not a goal - and the slashing the stick penalty to O'Sullivan in overtime. But, once again . . . the Oil simply gas a lead and fold like a cheap suit.

I'm icing down those brewskies as we speak.

Only the second time the Oil have lost this season when leading after two. Both losses were in OT.

Only saw the 3rd period (hate it when work gets in the way of hockey watching. Stupid Eastern Time zones)

I never like blaming the refs, and we did get outplayed in the 3rd and pissed away a golden chance on the PP at the end of the game, but we got effing robbed by the zebras in the 3rd and OT.

First, Koivu directed the puck at the net with his GLOVE, not his stick, and that alone= No goal.

Then once we get to OT, two Oilers in a row (first Hemmer, then Gilbert) get tripped in our own zone, then O'Sullivan (Kings fans at hfboards.com call him POS ) takes a half-@ssed swipe at the Habs' stick and breaks it. Off to the box we go, and then it's in our net.

Call me a homer if you want but that was atrocious refereeing.

For those that saw the whole game, did Nilsson show anything after watching the last few in the pressbox? Didn't do much at all in the limited ice time he saw in the 3rd.

                        Oilers formula for mediocrity

No killer instinct + No power play = no chance in the playoffs ≠ bad coaching

                          12 was alright.

We missed 27 on the PP.

We still need a ****ing third line C, and it's costing us points in the standings.

I thought Nilson played pretty well, and yes, I think Penner was missed on the Power Play.

Kotalik... is leaving a lot to be desired, and I'm quickly remembering why I was asking "why?"

Moore would have been a much better addition for an identical cost...
