Oilfans.com???

Anybody know what the story is with Oilfans.com? I haven't been able to access the site for the last few days. Has it dissapeared alltogether?

The discussion group has been dead for at least a year. That's OK though, as it was the worst moderated site on the planet.

Oilfans sucks. It's a bit too cliquey. oilers.com sucked too, but someone must have thought it important enough to hack into because that's why it's gone.

I do wonder why Rejean would want to further embarrass himself by venturing an apperance at an Edmonton sports forum, however. Unless you like to be reminded of your inferiority, of course.

90% of the time Calgary teams are nothing but a mosquito. A minor annoyance.

We worry about them? Rejean's conduct at the calgarypuke forum says otherwise! I would bet at least 3/4 of his posts are all about Edmonton! Well isn't that special?

The edmontonoilers.com one has only been down for about 6 months...

I was a regular there and I am pretty sure it went down at the start of the lock-out.

It was a terrible site for moderation. One Calgary fan in particular (candasonlyteam) got away with a allot. His posts were laced with profanity and pure hatred to Oiler fans. I couldn't believe he wasn't suspended until the Flames clinched a playoff spot with three games remaining. At that point he let loose.

Up until then the moderater would clean up his posts every two weeks or so.

I first heard about esksfans from a post on oilfans. Interestingly a few long-time oilfans posters I know (but don't neccessarily agree with) took a look at this forum and said they don't like it because it's "too cliquey". These days oilfans doesn't have enough posters to form a clique.

Nope. 15 min iof inactivity and the counter stops. Up until a few days ago, it was 10 min. so he's been browsing for a while, no doubt.

I think it'll pick up when the lock-out is over...plus alot post at HF boards too so they some discussions over there....
