Raffi Torres Is A Scoring Machine

Frickin' Raffi Torres turns into a scoring machine - against the Oilers, of course.
Maciocia, Hall, Strasser, Hairston and Thorpe are finally all gone. The rest will take care of itself.

Good luck Kavis Reed and the rest of the Esks' new coaching staff!

Thank God we have that MVP Khabbulin here to let in 3 goals on 4 shots to start the game, and then lets in a softie to finish the game.
"This year, we did what we were supposed to do. We fought as a team. We fought as a team. And the fact is, we gotta go back and go to work, to make sure we finish this next time. That's all we gotta do. This right here makes us stronger. Let's understand who we are as a team. Let's understand this right here makes us stronger." - Ray Lewis, January, 2012.

A very poor game by Khabibulin. We talk about JDD's positioning but what excuse does a 15 year veteran have? That last goal was just a power snooze.

With a very young team there has to be nights when the goaltender bails you out but that just isn't happening.

I'll say one thing though, Eberle reminds me of Gretzky in a few ways. He isn't that big and he isn't that fast but he is a master stick handler and he comes to play every night. So far, Hemsky and the youngsters are carrying the team. It would be nice if both Penner and Horcoff had a game where "both" are on top of things. They seem to take turns.

My God our penalty killing is bad. I guess that Brodziak and Glencross weren't good enough to cut it on our PK special unit so it follows that we had to show them the door.

Two of them were deflections...and one of them was a ridiculous play by the Sedins. Not sure you can blame him for that first period...

That last goal though, man, what a letdown.

Amazing how these ex-Oilers are having career games against their former team.

I'd let the awful start go if not for him being a lazy son of a bitch and not bothering to look around Strudwick (who also deserves to be ****ing benched for his "effort" out there last night... why the hell we signed him AGAIN....)

Basically last night can be summed up in two quotes...

"You have to stop all the ones you're supposed to, and some of the ones you're not." - Dryden

"He's great in the room? Great, leave him in there." - Gretzky

Having guys that can't ****ing play hockey but are great in the room won't do sweet **** all to help this team when they're sitting int he basement again, and having a goalie that can't me a big save and lets in softies won't do much either.

Unsurprisingly, Bulin is once again near the league cellar in terms of GAA and SV%.

              SV%: .897 (35/42)
              GAA: 3.44 (37/42)

              ****ing sieve.

Amazingly... twitter is exploding saying that is the first ever ex-Oiler to get a trick against the Oilers.

A scoring machine is a consistent scorer, not a 1 game wonder. Besides, from what I hear (I never watched the game, but from what I read on the blogs and what I see here), most of Raffi's goals were gifts courtesy of our starting goalie.

                  Nothing to see here.
