I think it's too early to say that but it looks to me like our goaltending is still shaky and the guys just aren't interesting in playing defence or clearing guys away from the net. You can't get away with that in today's NHL, its just too competitive and veteran teams capitalize on your mistakes in a big hurry.

obviously I was joking around with the first post.

But any way you look at it - this team is still bad. We can't do a damn thing 5 on 5. We can't set up in the offensive zone - is that because we are too small or is it the system we are trying to play. D is not playing good at all.. too much puck watching and not keeping an eye on your guy. And to chalk it all up it looks like we are back to not ever shooting the puck. 1 shot tonight since Ebs goal at 11:somehting in the 2nd. thats sad. We try to get cute and make the passes to make a pretty goal instead of just shooting...

Looking at the game tonight it appeared to be boys versus men, the Flames are just so much bigger than the Oilers but that isn't the biggest problem.

There is no production from Horcoff, Smyth, Belanger or Whitney. These guys just have to contribute sometimes. No way will both Whitney and Horcoff be back next year. Smyth looks like he is skating in cement.

yep I agree on the vets. As for the size most teams will be larger than the Oil... We can't rely on PP's for goals. Need to be productive 5 on 5.
