MacTavish impressed with Schremp

London Knight Robbie Schremp's future is looking bright in Edmonton.

The 19-year-old forward has been seeing plenty of time on the Oilers' first power-play unit in the exhibition season and Edmonton head coach Craig MacTavish has been impressed.

''Right now, we see Rob as a very viable option to help us five-on-four, five-on-three, four-on-three and those will be significant minutes in today's game, MacTavish told the Edmonton Journal''

Schremp still has junior eligibility left and could return to the Knights as long as he plays no more than ten NHL games.

I am SO hoping this kid makes it.....I think he has a lot of potential and could be top line material if handled properly.....

As long as he's got his rumoured bad attitude under control, I'd definitely like to see him stay ...he seems to be great on special teams, I hope that he can translate that into success even-strength as well.

I was at the game against Calgary

Schremp was named the first star...with good reason. He's like Weight on PP...made great passes, set up huge chances.

Hope he makes the team.

Shremp will make the team. Whether he stays for the 10 games depends on how he does.

This guy is a player. Several teams passed on him. He wants to show them they made a mistake. They did.

He deserves to make it with the camp he has had. He looks a hell of a lot better then the majority of the Oilers out there. I just hope they dont waste him by plugging him on teh fourth line.

From what I hear, Horcoff is having a bad camp. If Schremp is performing in camp and his attitude is in check, then he should get a good shot. We need a skill guy like Schremp centering our first line. I just hope they don't handle him like they handled Comrie.

Comrie deserved to be handled like he was.. Comrie was the biggest crybaby I've ever seen in my life.
