    Flames Shutout Oilers

Flames beat down the Oilers last night 3-0 with their big line of Amonte-Langkow-Iginla being responsible for 2 of the three goals.

Minor-league goaltender Brent Krahn got the shutout for the Flames playing the entire game.

Also, more interesting is the penalties - Oilers had 10; 7 of which were of the "clutch and grab" type... I thought the Flames were supposed to be doomed with these new rules??

Also, the Oilers were playing a no name, not very good goaltender.

Kipper hasn't played a game yet because he is hurt.

You guys played a minor league goalie but we played a junior goalie for the last two periods.

You also failed to mention Conklin didn't get scored on. He played the first period.

And George Laraque laid out your Flame fighter with one punch. It was a TKO.

Flamers won't survive the season clutching and grabbing.

We sat out our key players. Calgary dressed all of theirs.

Jussi is ready to go this week.

I heard Kipper is hurt and that is why he has yet to play a pre-season game.

he has played a game... I remember seeing him in net during some highlights.

it was during the game against Chicago which the fumes won 5 -2.

Kipper played against the last team the Flames played, before the Oilers.

Are you sure? I had read he hadn't played yet. I am having trouble finding the season stats from that game. It was Chicago.

Gee Feterik, you get all upset when we crow about a pre-season win ("you didn't play the Flames, you played the Omaha Knights") and then you come on here and start a thread on a Flames win, complete with a link.
I guess we'll be seeing a lot of you during the season. It's all in good fun though.

I was just gonna say....wasnt this the guy saying not to get to excited cause we beat the knights yet this is practically the complete opposite for the Flames part...the Oilers iced the Roadrunners, errr no wait. The Bulldogs, nope thats not it either, Oh yeah, the Bulldogs/Stars/and whoever else is an affiliate.

Theres no denying that the Flames will be a decent hockey team but Ill put money on it that they wont make it to the cup Finals again.
