    Our team?

If we make no more moves, are you satisfied with our team?

Morrison has just left to Montreal off of waivers

"Morrison, 26, posted a 10-4-2 record in Edmonton with a 2.83 goals against average and .884 save percentage. With Morrison arriving, Billy Thompson will return to Binghamton of the AHL. "

To answer the question, yes. Except that I'd like to see georges Laraque sent packing.

except of course for the fact he has typically been one of our better players down the stretch in past years.

Meh. I don't really see what he brings to the table anymore. He doesn't fight, he doesn't score. He cycles the puck along the boards amounting to nothing. That's it.

I thought his game as actually improved quite a bit lately. I guess all I can say is as of right now, I'm ok with him on our team.

I don't know why we keep Reasoner around either. Fan favourite perhaps but I'm sure we could trade him for something better.

because he is a solid two-way player.

I saw Morrison to Ottawa... ?

At any rate, I'm not satisfied with the team. The lack of consistency has been huge - maybe a change between the pipes will be the impetus they need to get their heads back into it. But there have been guys on this team who have been luke-warm, at best, for most of the season. If you're a play-off bound team, then "potential" doesn't cut it any more... Laraque has to decide what player he wants to be, and if his answer isn't "Dave Semenko", he has to go, because he's not skilled enough to be anyone BUT Semenko on this squad. Pisani is being forced into a scorer's role. Dvorak is the most infuriatingly talented yet inconsistent Oiler since Kent Nilsson. Peca has been a disappointment, Pronger's hurt (no one's fault)...

Don't get me wrong, there is plenty to be excited about... the aquisition of Roloson, the emergence of Horcoff, Stoll and Hemsky... but our expectations changed with Calgary's playoff run last season. It's not good enough anymore to be one of the top 8 teams in the conference, and make the playoffs. We want advancement THROUGH the playoffs. This team is within striking distance of first in the NW, and with a little consistency could easily be at the head of the pack by a large margin. I'm not smart enough to supply the answers to their ills, but I've identified some of the symptoms. Failing to address them will only result in disappointment for the faithful, I think.

9 goals and a -12 rating is not a solid player in my books.

I think the plus/minus is an unimportant stat, especially for forwards. He is solid in his own end, rarely get himself out of position and is solid on our third line.

I'd rather have D-vo outta here before Reasoner, personally

I think you're being a little hard on them. They're 11 games above .500 and if it wasn't for extremely bad netminding, this team would be challenging for top spot in the conference. They allow the second least amount of shots per game and are scoring at a pretty good rate. They have a very strong defence and a deep set of forwards (could use another scorer) and I think they're ready to make some serious noise in the playoffs. Imagine how many more games this team could play if they didn't allow that one bad goal they allow EVERY single game. There's a lot to be excited about right now, and I can't wait for the stretch run/playoffs.

He's been stuck on the 4th line playing with such "talented" wingers such as Laraque and Harvey. I think he's capable of stepping onto the top 2 lines as an injury replacement, plus he plays hard so I like the little guy.
I thought I wanted a career; turns out I just wanted paychecks.
