I think an Eastern team wins it all. All look good except for the Habs and Tampa.

My official picks

Detroit/Edmonton. If the Oilers can stay out of the penalty box and Roloson can win a game or two on his own, the Oil have a chance. I want the Oilers to win, and this may be a homer pick, but I smell upset. Oilers in 6.

Dallas/Colorado. Colorado's goaltending is suspect. Dallas isn't a great team but they are solid all around. I want them both to lose, but Dallas wins in 6.

Calgary/Anaheim. If Calgary can pick up their offensive game they can do some damage. But the officiating in the "new NHL" will work against them. I'd love to see the Ducks take this series, but the Flames are too deep, too disciplined and have better goaltending. Flames in 5.

Nashville/San Jose. San Jose is on a roll and Nashville doesn't have their top goalie. Enough said. Sharks in 5.

Ottawa/Tampa Bay. I love this matchup. Tampa Bay is a sleeper, if they put it all together they'll scare some teams, and the Senators goaltending to me is a huge question mark. And you just know that Hasek is going to be a distraction to this team no matter what. But in the long run, the Sens are more talented up front and tougher on D. Sens in 7.

Carolina/Montreal. I'm still not sold on the Canes. For some reason I just can't take them seriously. Maybe I'm wrong but I like the Habs goaltending better. If they can manage to capitalize on special teams I see them winning this series. Habs in 7.

NJ/NYR. Devils are on a roll. And it's a great matchup between Jagr vs. Brodeur. Smart money tells you that in the playoffs defence trumps offence. Devils in 7.

Buffalo/Philadelphia. I'd love to see the Sabres win this one, but Philly is too deep, too talented and has more experience. Philly in 5.

Early pick...NJ and SJ in the final. IIRC they're the two hottest teams in the league...NJ has the goaltending, and SJ has the scoring, to get both teams to the Cup final.

As for the Cup itself, I would have to say NJ right now.

None of these picks matter, the Flamers are going to win it all.

The shots were fairly even last night but the quality wasn't. Kipper made amazing save after amazing save. The team was a one year wonder, the goalie wasn't. In fact, I think Kipper has gotten better.

No goalie has carried an entire team like Kipper has, he won the division for Calgary. The team itself is crap, Kipper is unlike any goalie who has ever played this game.

Kipper is showing no signs of slowing down.

When Jagr wins the MVP this year it will be a huge injustice. There is no player more valuable to their team than Kipper has been. Jagr will simply win it for winning the scoring race and due to the fact the goalies have their own trophy.

Kipper is the Wayne Gretzky of goaltenders.
