This is absolute crap IMO. If the Oil win game six, they're expected to be in Anaheim for a Friday start to the Western Conference final.

But on the flip side you can't expect Anaheim or whoever had won, to wait even longer to play. If they waited until later the Ducks would have had almost 2 weeks off.

Yeah, but if this series goes 7, they wait until Sunday anyway. Why not just announce Sunday as game one...then both teams know and at least it's somewhat fair if the Oil win in six.

yeah but you can't have an upstart 8th place team getting breaks like that! I mean they already knocked off the "top team" in the league. It's bad for the image and credibility of the league!

I don't mind going every other day in a single series, but it's it's nice to have a few days in between series for rest and to help prepare for the next team.

We'll just have to keep the momentum going if we're able to win this series in 6 games.

NHL must want to take advantage of Friday being a slow-TV night... or trying to squeeze as much of the playoffs as possible to avoid the NBA Finals.

Should the Oilers advance they're going to be playing Game 1 two nights later regardless... I don't think rest should be an issue anyway, the nice thing about the playoffs is that you almost always get a day or two's rest between games and no extended road trips. Keeps the momentum fresh

It's going to look absolutely horrible - thus giving the CSA even more reason to take more games in the 2007 World U-20 Championships away from Edmonton (and give them to Toronto ).

Yeah. Friday night, 8:00, CW - Canada vs. Brazil U-20 friendly.

In the public's defence, they've done a horrible job of publicizing it, though - the only reason I heard about it was through a buddy who coaches a kids' team. So regardless whether there was a hockey game or not, I doubt they would have drawn all that well.
