Hmmmm, never heard Carlyles statements......did he say anything about putting tape together to send to the league though?

As far as Wilson goes.......well, he wasn't making it up.....Roloson was beaking to the ref anytime someone settled near him.....he was playing games and it was working. You must recall game 5 in Edmonton vs. Anaheim where Rolo came out of the crease and initiated contact to draw a goalie interference penalty on (IIRC) Lupul who was skating by 3 feet in front of the blue ice.....?

That was a veteran goalie keeping with the same complaints that were publicly stated....fair gamesmanship, but you have to allow that it should apply both ways.

you probably saw little of Wilson's complaining. Man, that guy never shut up.
I seem to recall a bit of it......but he wasn't lying, he just took it too far I guess....

How does complaining about someone else getting calls by complaining make it worse than actually being the one complaining originally though.... (that's damn confusing right there)

It doesn't. I'm not saying one team is worse than the other. I'm simply saying that both team's do it...

fair enough, I have noticed it more from the Oilers though....and like you say, it could easily be from more local influence....

This one (topic) you have to admit though is pretty damn petty and stupid......you know that I'm going to be watching the faceoffs much more closely now......

It's no more petty than the great Maas/Ray debates of 2005.

can we keep it strictly to the criteria of quarterbacking though....

While I've gained an immense respect for they way they've played through these playoffs, I have to say that the constant complaining (first non-stop about other teams crashing the net - while they were doing the same, and now this).....well, it's starting to lessen the respect I had....
                      Typical Leaf fan reply.

It is clear he is cheating. He lines up fine but moves his body afterwords. There is no way he could be winning 80% of the face-offs. When Horcoff dominated in the previous series he had a 56% success rate.

And I felt all along Roli was going to get hurt in the playoffs the way teams were crashing the net. I say we fight fire with fire and crash the Canes net tonight.

Not sure it matters anymore...but Kypreos just did a segment on Sportsnet about how Brind'Amour definitely was cheating during the faceoffs.

                          It was definitive proof!

you're right, it doesn't matter (and now you've got 'Nookster jumping on the bandwagon with ya ).....never said he wasn't......I was griping about the seemingly non-stop whining/complaining which I find degrading.

All good face-off men have little cheats that they use.....(don't kid yourself, Stoll/Horcoff/Peca have theirs as well). The actual rules regarding stick placement on face-offs are NEVER followed anyway as they would wind up throwing out guy after guy until the fans went irate....(y'know how the dot's have little arcs removed on each side of them? Those are where each centreman is supposed to bring his stick to a complete rest before the puck is dropped - they never do).....I'm actually surprised by the lack of technique that many NHL centremen have - especially when trying to draw the puck back.......
