Thank you for a great run, Edmonton

I'm heartbroken right now... I don't know what to say... I enjoyed every moment of this playoff run and I'm completely devastated right now. I guess it just wasn't meant to be....... I don't know... I feel like crying. I hope Peca, Sammy and Roli all stay here to help us win the cup next year....

Atleast I won't have to see those disgusting Carolina Hurricanes lift the cup... sucks that their fans won't even know what trophy they won in a weeks time

    Good run.

Sucks the Cup is in that area again.

I've NEVER enjoyed watching hockey so much as I have in the last couple of months.

      Thank you Oilers.

Yeah, props to the Oil! They went further than many expected and put the thrill back into the NHL for many of us.

We just served notice this year that we're a force to be reckoned with.

Yup. There's a great core group of guys here. It bodes well for the future.

Cheer up. A beating on the Stamps this weekend should help get you out of your funk.

Wow. Does this ever suck. Probably one of the worst feelings I have ever experienced seeing that clock tick down to zero. (kinda tells you how good I have it, as all of us do here in Canada).feels like my heart has been ripped out and stomped on. and the worst part of it is, who knows when we will be this close again. could be another sixteen years, or even longer, for all we know.

but the sun will rise tomorrow and the Oil will be back. it also makes it that much easier that the Eskies are just getting started.

to make myself feel better, i think of it this way. in 1983 the oilers reached the SCF for the first time but fell to the NY islanders; following that loss, they went on to win 5 cups in the next 7 years, and many of the players on those championship teams credit that horrible feeling of being that close and losing as what motivated them most in the coming years.

imagine how good the team will be next year with consistent goaltending. i also believe that kevin lowe will do nothing but improve this club in the offseason. (especially with all that extra cash from this amazing run). another thing to realize is a number of key players (Stoll, horcoff, Pisani, hemsky, torres, bergeron, greene, etc.) are still quite young and haven't even reached their full potential yet. we also have a lot of talented prospects waiting in the wings such as schremp, syvret, pouliot, jacques, winchester, dubnyk, and deslauriers.

i shall truly never forget this amazing playoff run and i thank the boys who poured their heart and soul into every game and for providing the best hockey i have ever seen. they certainly earned their paychecks this year. i guess, in the end, someone has to lose, and apparently it wasn't our time quite yet.

but hey, we got farther than calgary, and anytime that happens it's a successful season in my books.

Uhh, I hate to rain on your moment of grief but the Flames lost game 7 as well.

SO the only thing you can say is that edmonton matched Calgaries run 2 years ago.

Yes, thankyou Oilers for giving us a great run and for giving every fan a reason to believe that hockey is alive and well in Edmonton. It's hard to be optimistic at this point, but I like to think that we'll be a force to be reckoned with in '06-'07.

He means this season, I think.

And, the Oilers took less games to reach game 7 (24 total vs 26), and lost it by a lesser margin (3-1 rather than 3-0)...so one could say that we did better in our run.
We're cheering Fight Fight Fight On Eskimos...

I think he was referring to this year.....to go back in history would be futile comparing the Oilers to the Flames....that is horribly one sided....
