I'd take that and run, but Matheson commented on the rumour and thought it wasn't enough *shrug*. Personally I'd be surprised if they signed both Jovo and traded for Pronger.

Originally the deal was Bouwmeester, Horton AND their first round pick in this year's draft, and it was too much for Keenan to swallow..

Take out the pick, and I still think it would be a decent trade. One that you wouldn't know who won or lost in the long run for many years.....

If I was Kevin Lowe, I would play hard ball with Chris Pronger and say, I am not trading you... honor your contract, Kevin Lowe does not have to trade him just because Pronger, through his agent, requested it... just because a player requests a trade does not mean you have to trade them, if he had any sense at all he would stand up to him and just tell him he is not trading him, because it is not benefit to the community, and to hell with his rich wife, and to suck it up.

All I am sayings is...Why trade Chris Pronger away just because he's asking to be dealt? Why not take a stand here and say no? This isn't the old days when the Edmonton Oilers couldn't afford it. Why not make the point that in the best interest of your team, you're not trading your best player away?

It would be a nice stance. But we can't afford $6 mil to have someone in the press box because I sure wouldn't put a player like that in the locker room.

Bouwmeester and Horton would be a good deal IMO. I don't think it will happen. Not sure Florida can do both Pronger and Jovo. And since Jovo is most certainly going to Florida...
