I'm not so sure we're going to see Pronger and Niedermayer paired together for the whole season. Maybe in PP situations, but if it were me, I'd be spreading the talent out a bit...

Actually, I'd say the stupidest thing you could do is manage to make Scott Niedermayer or Chris Pronger redundant at $6,250,000+ a season.

That vaunted defense allowed 44 shots last night. While playing the LA Kings.

It's a cap world, spedning over 25% of your cap on two players is risky.

Spending it on two defenseman is stupid.

If I was the Ducks...I'd go with 5 D.

Both Niedermayer and Pronger can, and would, play 30 mins...have the 3 other guys play 20 mins each. Throw an extra forward in and forecheck like crazy.

But I'm glad they haven't seemed to catch on to that.

But the Ducks were close last year. Pronger could be what they need to get over the hump and into the finals. If that happens, that 12-13 million will be money well spent.
