To be honest, I wasn't even cold. We smeared vaseline on our faces before the game. Made a world of difference.

For those of you who care (if any... ) this game was played in bitterly cold conditions (-27 at kickoff). Willow Creek took an early 21-0 lead before Sexsmith was able to claw their way in the second half to make it 21-14. With less than three minutes left in the game Willow Creek scored a TD (missed convert) to make it 27-14. Sexsmith returned the kickoff for a TD to make it 27-21. The short kick off failed and Willow Creek had the ball in good field position, but fumbled and lost the ball. With about a minute left the Sexsmith Sabres hit on a long pass and run for a TD, but unbelievably the convert attempt to take the lead hit the upright and was no good.
The Cobras managed to move the ball with a long running play and a pass to get in position to punt the ball through the end zone with 30 seconds to play and hung on for an amazing win and the Tier IV Provincial Championship.


And FTR, the officiating was flawless as usual.
