Wow, they sure drop like flies in the pro wrestling world these days. I remember watching an ECW match with Awesome and Spike Dudley where Awesome put Spike through 9 or 10 tables in a row. That was when ECW was nutty as hell.

        Amen.

Someone leaked a bunch of "relive the rattlesnake/your olympic hero/the rock" onto youtube a couple days ago - amazing stuff. Those guys were charismatic as hell and made wrestling fun to watch (well that, and I was 12 ).

        If anyone feels like reminiscing..

Oh man, I just wasted an hour watching those clips. Good times.

Mike Awesome? I guess they are running out of decent character names.

PDO, you need to find some old clips of the real ECW, back when it was on sportschannel philly.

I haven't watched wrestling since Macho Man Randy Savage, and I was a teenager. I didn't even know the Rock was a wrestler.

I hadn't watched Raw in about 5 years. I tune in a couple Mondays ago and nothing's changed. It's like it left off right where it was when I last watched. A soap opera for men.

It's really hard to find anything that isn't a compilation these days, but if you were looking for something specific, I could see what I could do...

I liked the old ECW, but some of the stuff they did was just a tad too dangerous.

IMO nothing will ever come close to the old Stampede Wrestling. I used to just love Saturday afternoons watching ol' Ed Whalen......those guys were all great. The best was watching about the first five minutes of their cage match (with a cage of chain link or chickenwire) then one guys face would get scrubbed across it and they'd cut to the very end where Ed is in the ring telling everyone what basically happened as the ring mat is covered in blood....

Then gathering up the allowance money and heading down to the Agricom (or later the Covention centre) and watching the rematches at Klondike Wrestling...
Before you insult a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, when you insult him, you'll be a mile away, and have his shoes.

Stampede was also a Saturday ritual for me too. I was always a little dissapointed when Ed cut off the show cuz someone was cut but I guess that was the times back then. Diez, 3D and myself had a road trip to Calgary to watch the final ever Stampede show. They had all the great names including all the Hart boys, Stu too, Davy Boy etc... My favorite memory was they announced Jerry Morrow and The Cuban Assassin. When they walked in, everyone gave then a standing O. It looked like Cuban had no idea what to do. After all those years of being booed, I bet it was the first time he was ever cheered and it was very loud. Of course he was booed for the rest of the match. Ed of course ended the show with his usual tag line. A great night.
When you don't know that you don't know, it's a lot different than when you do know that you don't know.
