Did you see the list of potential candidates the Toronto Sports Network listed as possible replacements? Glen Healey, Mess? Does TSN actually think that he would hire another GM with no experience after he said that he possibly made a mistake? Well its the makemelaughs and anything is possible. Opus, how can you?

And the soap opera continues in the Big Smoke (hope the Habs just smoke them tonight on TSN).

Well, so long as the sheep show up at the game and the Ontario Teachers Pension fund is making its 20% returns they'll be happy. I think that quote is a bit of CYA from Peddie. MLSE got out of trying to influence the GM office with the Raptors and they've turned it around. But for some reason, they're like the pie scene in American Pie with the Leafs. They just can't say no to getting their rocks off with a poor replacement for the real thing. And Leaf ownership has been caught...again. And the public is as forgiving as Levy was.

Thank the gods that the Oiler ownership tends to mind their own business and doesn't play favourites with players, coaches and media like they do here. I disliked the Leafs before, but I nearly dispise them now living here.

The leafs need to bring in a Neil Smith or someone like that (he has large market experience) and let him be. That is the only way the leafs will ever do anything

It's the Leafs BOD that is causing the problems to begin with.....they need to copy the same formula they used with the Raptors to turn them around.

Get in One talented hockey mind and give him the autonomy he needs to do his job. JFJ would have been long gone if it wasn't for the beurocracy that is MLSE.........nearly as inept and self-destructive as the old Ballard regime.

What they need to do is ask for a cash call from the owners to buy out the contracts of all the crappy players on the Leafs, which at last count was pretty much everybody......then start over almost from scratch again. At least this way you have hope for the future. The way it is now there is not hope for the future. Can't trade underperforming vets, can't put them on waivers, can't do anything with them. Buy them all out and kick their butts out the door.

Like I said before.....ultimately he's not the one responsible or to blame.

The structure is a friggen mishmash. You've got JFJ that is handcuffed in some cases and pushed into other decisions in other cases. You've got Peddie and Tannenbaum basically struggling over who can and will pull JFJ's puppet strings at any given time.....then equally pandering to the BoD for who is going to sit in the favorites seat this week.

They've got to get their own ownership situation cleared out of the OTU and back to either a singular ownership or at least a conglomerate ownership who's primary focus is the team and not the financial bottom line.

                    you'd be wrong.

The Leafs troubles are a reflection of the front office......the LAST thing they need is having that front office blow everything up and try and build from scratch......

It could be worse...you could be a 'Hawks fan waiting since 1961 for a cup.

Funny enough they're doing better after the death of Wirtz.

Look. We can go round and round about this all the live long day. Let's keep it simple. I embody amazement. Can you dig on that? Good. Then meet me on the corner of rock and roll, and bring a flask of something that burns.

Even worse: the Hawks haven't won since 1961 -- the Leafs won in '64..
