Re: Crosby has High Ankle Sprain
Good. That may make the All-Star game commentators bearable. Then again....they'll probably spend the whole game lamenting that he's not there. On second thought...I think I'll go skiing that weekend.I officially retract my vote for DDS as Prime Minister. He's clearly incompetent.

Re: Crosby has High Ankle Sprain
#1) There goes my fantasy team.
#2) Crosby is already a top 5 player in the league (Zetterberg, Lidstrom, Luongo... he's probably a top 4), and he still can't even drink in the States. Will he match Gretzky's raw numbers? Probably not, the goalies and the defense in that era were laughable. Will he reach his level of dominance though? Extremely possible."This year, we did what we were supposed to do. We fought as a team. We fought as a team. And the fact is, we gotta go back and go to work, to make sure we finish this next time. That's all we gotta do. This right here makes us stronger. Let's understand who we are as a team. Let's understand this right here makes us stronger." - Ray Lewis, January, 2012.

Re: Crosby has High Ankle Sprain
I wasn't the biggest fan of Crosby when he came into the league, but he has shown me that he will be able to dominate the league when he hits his prime. He is fast, tough, and smart with the puck.....he's fun to watch and I've become a fan.
He's also probably the only hope of drawing in American fans again.

The dislike for Crosby just blows my mind. Perhaps in his first year the whining he was doing could be irritating but the sheer hatred people have for him is kind of pathetic if you ask me.Quote from Inquiring Mind:

Watching Crosby do his thing is entertaining. Having the media ram Crosby down our throats is what is annoying IMO.Originally posted by stamphater View PostThe dislike for Crosby just blows my mind. Re: Crosby has High Ankle Sprain
When you look at the state of the game in the years previous to Gretzky entering the league, the league was rather unexciting. The guy, with some help from his friends, basically changed the way the game would be played for the next 15 years. As good as Crosby is I don't see him as being THAT great as to change the way the game is played. The level of skill increase in goaltenders (perhaps due to larger pads...) has grown exponentially relative to the increase in skill in most forwards.
Fair enough but disliking Crosby for that reason is silly. People disliked Gretzky for the same reason. That's why you got guys like Dick Beddoes and Stan Fischler clinging to their belief in the early 80s that Gretz was a flash in the pan. Guess he showed them!Watching Crosby do his thing is entertaining. Having the media ram Crosby down our throats is what is annoying IMO.Quote from Inquiring Mind:

Re: Crosby has High Ankle Sprain
I find it funny that people are all excited because there are finally some exceptionally talented players in the NHL again, like Crosby and Ovechkin. Neither will smash record, but at least now we can say that the best players in the league are actually exceptional.

If Crosby was an Oiler, I would LOVE it.
