IndyCar signs CocaCola and Direct TV as Sponsors

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. & INDIANAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--DIRECTV, the nation's leading satellite television provider, adds another notch in its HD belt as the Premiere Official Sponsor of the IndyCar Series. Beginning with the April 6 Honda Indy Grand Prix of St. Petersburg all IndyCar Series events will be carried in DIRECTV HD, delivering unprecedented detail and realism to a sport already defined by speed, history and pulse-quickening close finishes.

As the Premiere Official Sponsor for the IndyCar Series, DIRECTV will be recognized in the series logo to reinforce that each respective race event is carried "in DIRECTV HD". DIRECTV will also receive extensive branding placements throughout each IndyCar Series race, including in-car camera mounts, placement on all driver uniforms and cars, and branding throughout pit road. The Fan Zone at each track will also feature DIRECTV co-branded interactive kiosks where race fans can learn about the racing history, components of each car, and get updated stats on each driver and race.

The IndyCar Series and Coca-Cola North America have forged an agreement that will make Coca-Cola, one of the world's most recognized brands, an official sponsor of the IndyCar Series through 2010.

The agreement builds on Coca-Cola North America's relationship with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Indianapolis 500. Through this expanded association, Coca-Cola will develop retail marketing programs to help enhance the IndyCar Series racing experience for fans.

The partnership follows the announcement last year of a 10-year sponsorship agreement between Coca-Cola North America and International Speedway Corporation, owner of five tracks on the IndyCar Series 2008 schedule. Coca-Cola also has relationships with several other tracks on the schedule.

A lot of people go through life doing things badly. Racing is important to men who do it well. When you're racing, it's life. Anything that happens before or after is just waiting." Michael Delaney AKA- Steve McQueen

Having a consolidated open wheel series will be good for all forms of motorsports
I will not, for a moment longer, support an organization who chooses to cowardly kneel where they once fiercely & proudly stood
