For what its worth (and I know its not worth much to you guys haha). Brett Hull agrees with this report and has said for awhile now that there needs to be MORE Canadian NHL teams.

To me, for a guy that played for Team USA and spent almost his entire career on American teams to say that, I think it says a lot.

A great suggestion by the Post.

Is there anybody in the world who would miss--

Phoenix?

Tampa Bay?

Florida?

Nashville?

Anaheim?

Los Angeles?

Colombus?

The problem is that contraction just never happens. Teams sometimes move but the league never contracts. To do that, the franchise owners of the contraction candidates would demand to be bought out at some exhorbitant fee and in a league where sponsorhip money is short and payrolls are sky high the other owners won't do it.

The only hope for getting rid of these teams is to hope that the economic collapse will sweep them away but that collapse might take a whole lot of other teams (and maybe some Canadian ones) with it.

It's been very tough to win once Bettam was finished with his "team on every block strategy."
