I'm surprised, but business is business. The team has been degressing, and it was just time for a change.

I don't think too many people would have predicted this one...

BTW, Numberz; what the holy hell does "degressing" mean?

I consider myself a fairly literate person, but that's a new one for me...

I suppose the correct spelling is 'digress'...but even then it doesn't make sense, because it would mean to 'wander away' or 'stray from the main topic of an argument'.

I guess it's good that you pointed that out to me because I use that word all the time in the meaning of 'slow decrease in quality'....or something like that.

regress, that would be the one I'm looking for. In fact, that's the word I usually use.....where the hell did I get degress from?

I don't know. Are you drinking?

I tend to start inventing words after four martinis.

It's what have you done for me lately Mike??

Pat Bowlen the owner doesn't fool around--if the results aren't there, you aren't there, even if it's going to cost him around 20 mil to fire him.

Didn't see this coming but the results show that he isn't getting it done anymore. He will be scooped up in no time I would imagine.

                        Maybe that's the problem.
I officially retract my vote for DDS as Prime Minister. He's clearly incompetent.

                          Really?

Than why has he settled for a mediocre team with mediocre records for the past six or seven years?

Shanahan is a very good coach, but it has been something like 11 years since he won a championship and probably 8 years since they've had anything resembling a contender.

They were legit contenders in '05, they drafted the new face of their franchise and he is already paying dividends and developing nicely. They had to rebuild their o-line and still were able to plug in a fullback and have success. They were good on offense and terrible on defense. I`m still surprised, I think he`ll catch on somewhere, perhaps in Houston with Kubiak.

I have no doubt that alot of teams will be knocking on Shanahan's door in the next few weeks.

But let's not kid ourselves, it's been awhile since the Broncos were contenders.
As for Cutler, well he's looked great at times, but he's also looked terrible at times. He needs to learn to manage the game better. He's alot like Farve in that he continually tries to make something out of nothing, and while every once in awhile it results in a play that makes you say "WOW", mostly he's just hurting his team.
