    Lumsden signs with Seahawks

Just heard it reported on Sportsnet that Jesse Lumsden signed as a FA with the Seattle Seahawks.
Good luck to him in Training Camp. Hopefully he can be more than just another body that gets cut after a week.
These pretzels are making me thirsty.

With Shaun Alexander in there I don't know what his chances of cracking the lineup are, but happy to hear he's at least got a shot, and good luck to him .

            he'll be a good 3rd string.

We probably shouldn't be surprised that the Seahawks signed an undrafted Canadian free agent. They did the same with RB Kerry Carter who is Canadian in 2003. He managed to crack the line up also.

I just wonder what that means for Carter with the Lumsden signing. Could they be looking at replacing Carter.

A Battle Ensues! This could be interesting from a Canadian point of view me thinks.

I don't know exactly what the Seahawks plans are, but they have been shopping Alexander around this off-season. I'm assuming that their asking price is too high, because he's a hell of a RB who could help alot of teams. I don't know if the 'hawks are still looking to dump him now that the draft is gone.

there is no way Alexander is leaving Seattle.

Don't be too sure, he had a huge blowup at the end of the year when he didn't get the rushing title....that stuff don't fly too good with Holmgren

Didnt they just resign Alexander and name him the "Franchise" player?

They did tag him, but he's still a free agent at the moment.

I REALLY don't know about that. He was complaining that he didn't get another carry to win the rushing title last year, and he was also considered to be a cancer on the team by a lot of NFL analysts...
I wouldn't be surprised to see him traded for a promising young RB and a linebacker or a d-lineman (just not a high impact one).

It would not suprise me one bit to see Alexander gone. As many have alluded after the rushing title blowup, Holmgren and Alexander were on poor terms. That being said if Alexander goes, I'm confident they will not go into the season with an undrafted canuck as their second stringer. Most likely an Alexander trade would involve another back.
I told those f***s down at the league office a thousand times that I don't roll on Shabbos!
