NFL Lockout Over (Official Off-season insanity thread?)

Amazed there wasn't a thread on this.

    Rumor mill is already exploding.

Outside of Schefter, I only follow Ravens guys, so I know they cut all of Mason, Heap, McGahee and Gregg today and likely became the front-runners for Nnamdi Asomugha...
"This year, we did what we were supposed to do. We fought as a team. We fought as a team. And the fact is, we gotta go back and go to work, to make sure we finish this next time. That's all we gotta do. This right here makes us stronger. Let's understand who we are as a team. Let's understand this right here makes us stronger." - Ray Lewis, January, 2012.

      Dear Washington,

Do you want us to show you how it's done?

      Sincerely,
      The NFL.

Will certainly be an interesting next couple weeks. I wonder if the NBA will smarten up, or they're going to find out how easily it'll be for everyone else to find something else to occupy themselves with. The NFL would have been big enough to get away with an extended lockout, but even they avoided that route.
Look. We can go round and round about this all the live long day. Let's keep it simple. I embody amazement. Can you dig on that? Good. Then meet me on the corner of rock and roll, and bring a flask of something that burns.

Mason shocked me more to be honest... Ravens become paper-thin at WR without him.

That said, sounds like both (especially Heap) are likely to be re-signed at a reduced rate. Heap was due in the neighborhood of $4,600,000 and Mason $4,500,000.

Also looks like Gregg will re-join Rex if he can't come to terms with the Ravens.

The fact the Ravens drafted 2 TE's (Dickson and Pitta in the 3rd and 4th rounds respectively of the '10 draft) and 3 WR's (David Reed in '10, Torey Smith and Tandon Doss in '11) also pointed to both of these moves becoming eventual outcomes.

If the Ravens are serious about going after Nnamdi (and by all accounts he desperately wants to play A) for a contender B) on the East Coast and C) with Ray Lewis); look for Foxworth to be cut.

There was just too much money at stake to piss it away.

I don't think anyone was ever overly worried.. you don't piss away $9,000,000,000 over $300,000,000.

I'm waiting until Friday at 6PM eastern to start forming opinions on the forthcoming year. I know that my team (The Jaguars...lived there for a year when I was a kid) will be a bottom feeder this year. But I am super curious to see how things shake up this year. I think that this is the year that the Pats miss the playoffs.

Not really sure why some people are so high on the guy, but I guess we'll find out soon enough. He might have done alright when playing for a powerhouse school with the offense tailored to his strengths... but I don't think that's going to work with the Broncos, eventually he's going to throw the ball.

                        Yanda re-signs in Baltimore. Excellent.

                        Santana Moss re-signs in Washington.

QB carousel is about to explode, with the talking heads saying:

                        McNabb to Minnesota
                        Kolb to Arizona
                        Hasselbeck to Tenn
                        Leinart to Seattle
                        Orton to Miami

Apparently Tavaris Jackson will be going to Seattle with Sidney Rice possibly following.

Santonio Holmes is staying in New York. But that team will be weaker this year for sure.
