Will the Riders try to veto this, somehow?

Interesting news today out of Saskatoon...expressing an interest in relocation of an NHL franchise.

If this happens, the Riders would almost automatically become second fiddle.

I had my tickets on order in '83. Too bad that didn't work out. How could the Riders have any veto in this?

Wow what a dumb article. As if a city of 200K can support an NHL franchise.

Me thinks Bobbo is trolling for a reaction
Look. We can go round and round about this all the live long day. Let's keep it simple. I embody amazement. Can you dig on that? Good. Then meet me on the corner of rock and roll, and bring a flask of something that burns.

I would personally rather see a CFL team here in Saskatoon here first, but I would take an NFL franchise for sure. Not that I would ever leave the green and gold but I would buy season tix for a CFL franchise here in a heartbeat.

Just out of curiousity, does anyone know how many people Edmonton and Calgary had when they got the Oilers and Flames respectively?

Interesting that it was the Riders who moaned and bitched for a salary cap, and since a cap was put in place for them, they only years they've won they broke the salary cap rules.

According to the edmonton website the population in 1979 was 491359 and according to the ucalgary website the population of calgary was 560618 in 1980

Have to say the size of the cities at that point in time is totally irrelevant to the present day.

Oh imagine if they call them the Saskatoon Roughriders??? I'd buy a jersey just for that!

I'd buy a jersey if they were named anything OTHER THAN the Roughriders. The "Saskatoon Vagina-Beaters" has a nice ring to it.

I will not, for a moment longer, support an organization who chooses to cowardly kneel where they once fiercely & proudly stood

Fixed... and come 2014 it's be almost 5 billion/year, and that's just domestic rights.

EDIT: And those figures aren't even figuring in the additional 800M/year or so they make off the "Sunday Ticket" packages
