Yep, Indy's eclipsed Nascar for me in terms of on track action. It's a damn shame that we lost our race, but will get to enjoy a billion dollar boondoggle that will be blatchford for years to come.

Hinchcliffe was also struck by a small piece and was lucky just to have a concussion. Philippe Masa was struck by a suspension spring in F1 and was also in a coma but recovered and still races F1. The problem is JW got hid by a big piece weighting several pounds. At that speed, it's unsettling to think of the damage. Michael Andretti was seen talking to RHR in the subdued winners circle and you could clearly see him mouth the words off camera "yeah, it's bad"I will not, for a moment longer, support an organization who chooses to cowardly kneel where they once fiercely & proudly stoodComment

Thoughts are definitely with Wilson and his family. First saw him live in Vancouver at the Molson Indys and then all 7 Edmonton Indys. As Tracy mentioned in the broadcast the nose cone is a real solid piece of the car and to see it bounce right into the helmet area of J.W was horrifying. Great to see the Indy community all rally around Justin and Smoke to donate his plane to get his brother Stefan to P.A quickly from Indy. At this point all we can do is wait and hope he pulls through this.
Totally agree that it completely sucks losing our race. IMO there is now a big void left in our summers here in Edmonton.Comment

Obviously a different form of racing but had flashbacks to Darrell Russell's fatal crash in 2004. What a total freak accident….
