Yeah, the turnout so far has passed everyones expectations I think. Even the drivers were amazed there were 55 thousand for the first day.

It's great to see the huge turnout. Maybe part of the reason so many are showing up is that people wanted to avoid CHED's broadcast tandem of Bryan Hall and Dave Rutherford. Apparently calling horse races 20 years ago qualifies Hallsy for the job. As for Rutherford (Calgary's favorite talkshow host), he doesn't like photo radar and he's a redneck so I guess that makes him an auto racing expert.

Hehe, just saw mobes and Donny Brady in the pits getting interviewed on the broadcast. You guys looked sharp in those jumpsuits

And Gretzky was interviewed as well. He said some great things about the sports fans of this city. What a class guy

The record was 170,000 in Montreal as of 2002.

They said 90,000 today, which means the attendance was about 210,000 over 3 days.
