That and I'm hoping these kinds of restructures use up potentially unused cap space from this year, to reduce amounts coming out of future year caps. Otherwise, I don't get having Smith and previously Ford re-upping for what would still be league high...

Thanks for doing this again Glen. Wasn't a strong one for me, but hopefully I bounce back next year....

I went hunting around awhile back for this and literally couldn't find anyone who came through CIS who had a significant number of starts as a QB since Russ Jackson. If you have to go back 60 years, it's clearly a rare occurence. There were CIS QBs that...Last edited by bone; 11-13-2025, 09:53 AM.

The main reason it seemed like a fair decision was that BS had yet to have the opportunity to hire his own coach and GMs usually get at least one coaching change before being fired. Clearly that ended up being the wrong approach....

Only time any of his teams didn't play in a division final in his coaching career was the Grey Cup hosting year where the team was 9-9 but still missed the playoffs. Final 4 in 6 of 7 seasons as coach....

I believe Oshea's contract expires this year, so he's got the option to look elsewhere. Could be an interesting carousel to watch unfold....

I can agree with that, I do take exception to the idea that he's only been given the chances he has because he's Canadian. At best I'd grant that he's probably overhyped a bit by the general public for what he's done because of being Canadian and because...

Going into the playoffs I was all in on BC and Montreal in the Grey Cup. Their performances this weekend has introduced some caution into this belief, but ultimately they still pulled it off so I'm still calling them both, but just less assertively...

If the league valued Canadian trained QBs there would have been at least one since Russ Jackson. His birth certificate has nothing to do with it. Other positions I'll agree it is a gigantic factor, but not at QB. QBs don't even count against the ratio....Last edited by bone; 11-03-2025, 06:13 PM.

I understood why they did what they did, said as much and agreed with the switch as they did it and am not suggesting they needed to give him a longer leash with the organization desperate for wins after so many losing seasons. But at the same time there...Last edited by bone; 11-03-2025, 05:42 PM.

This is all fair, but I'm also not that sure he had enough time this year to prove it one way or the other.
To start with, he was working with a brand new coach and brand new OC. Secondly, the only returning receiver this year that had more...Last edited by bone; 11-03-2025, 12:06 PM.

Yeah, when I saw that, i was a little less happy about the extension. I hoped that last year's number that was way higher than his peers was because of the big signing bonus to lure him here in the first place and that he'd fall more in line with the...

Yeah both teams had better records in the first half than the second half whereas BC and Montreal seem to be peaking later.
The one thing that would still give me hope if I was Saskatchewan is that Harris despite being pretty average in...Last edited by bone; 10-31-2025, 03:32 PM.

I agree with the first paragraph 100%. The rest of it I'm not fully sure, but at this point it's likely time for another team to find out....

I'm all in on a Montreal BC Grey Cup matchup. Have been calling that for a few weeks now. Was a bit concerned with the scenario that could have put them head to head this week in the East Semi giving the Western teams a free pass by not having to deal...

I'm neither a Ford nor a Fajardo fan really, but I enjoy debating things.
I'm just not sold on Fajardo as a real solution and am worried if the team decides to go with him next year and two absolutely raw rookies that we'll be no further...

Edmonton's 2 and out % on the season was 38%. Last place in the league. In the first 5 games it was 43%, so there's a little bit to what you say and I'm a huge proponent of the idea that 2 and outs hurt defensive numbers greatly, but it was still last...Last edited by bone; 10-31-2025, 12:29 PM.
