Leafs to blame for cancelled shows?

I've heard they eat babies and kick puppies too......

Sounds to me like the Leafs popularity actually subsidises the funding for their crappy shows......you'd think they'd be cheering for them to do well then?

Man, if my team does lousy and doesn't make the playoffs some crappy TV shows will get the axe......man......now I'm like torn.....

They do, the Laffs has been their cashcow for years... pretty much every dime that funds the place comes via the Leafs or taxpayers.

Can't say I watch any of the shows in question... I do like some of the stuff CBC does, but they seem to cancel whatever I watch too soon... This is Wonderland and The Tournament being prime examples.... yet they keep finding more money to put towards beating that dead horse that is the Air Farce

Look. We can go round and round about this all the live long day. Let's keep it simple. I embody amazement. Can you dig on that? Good. Then meet me on the corner of rock and roll, and bring a flask of something that burns.

So now we know who to blame for the deaths of Nick, Relic and the King of Kensington.

Well, at least you never got Tommy Hunter, you ruthless blue foliage wearing *******s!

There was an episode of King of Kensington, back in the Ballard days when the Leafs sucked almost as badly as they do now, that featured the (fictitious) head coach of the Leafs.

Somebody asked him who he was, and he says, "I'm the coach of the Leafs...this week", and nervously glances behind him
Out of my mind; back in five minutes.

I've noticed that the last 2 weeks the Leafs haven't been the main game on CBC. First they showed Montreal and then this past Saturday it was Ottawa. Nothing really to do with this thread just thought I would comment.

I just hope this won't effect Doctor Who which the CBC helps fund with the BBC.

So the quality of entertainment programming on the CBC is directly proportional to the quality of product that the Leafs (pronounced Leaves by the literate) put on the ice? Where'd these people get their business diplomas? If they want more money, promote one of the other major Canadian teams who actually consistently play well.

Besides, the Leafs only get high playoff ratings because people tune in to see how quickly they will yet again choke.
