    Computer Related Question

Is there a way to get images/screen caps from dvd's?

I have game film from a midget football game over the weekend. No one was able to take pictures at the game, to use for the team website, so I wondered about taking screen caps from the dvd itself.

Is there a way to do it? Would I need a certain program?

I take it you are using WMP?

If so, just go to Tools > Options > Perfomance, and then set Video Acceleration to None.

edit: Might only work on older versions of WMP...not sure...

If you play it with a program like VLC, there is screen-cap functionality built right in. But even with Windows Media Player, if you disable video acceleration you should be able to capture just using the Print Screen of Windows
Look. We can go round and round about this all the live long day. Let's keep it simple. I embody amazement. Can you dig on that? Good. Then meet me on the corner of rock and roll, and bring a flask of something that burns.

Are you talking about live video or still shots?

If it's still shots, you can try using the "Print Screen" button on your keyboard. There may be possible issues with size, but it should work exactly like copy/paste except it's print screen/paste.

If you're talking about live video I'm stumped.

          Could also try this:
-Right click on the desktop go to Properties/Settings/Advanced

Now click on the troubleshoot tab and move the slider for hardware acceleration to none.

Or you could just take a photograph of your screen

If you're running Windows Vista, there's a "snipping tool" that lets you select what to copy on your screen.
              ....
