Seriously, that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Explain the Hawaiian birth announcement in the newspaper in 1961. Does the conspiracy go back THAT far?

Sorry to say, but the birthers are just racists in disguise. They can't handle a black man as president, so they have to make him illegitimate in some way.

The "birthers" movement was the best thing that ever happened to the Democratic Party If the Republicans could just be sane for a change, President Obama would never have happened.
Out of my mind; back in five minutes.

Man did that party ever get hijacked by wingnuts after the Clinton presidency. They used to be the small government, low taxes, keep government out of our lives party. Now they are the evangelical, conspiracy theorist, anti woman Tea Party movement. I feel bad for Reagan Republicans.

Let's face it....that's just the real Republicans coming out.

To my way of thinking, the Republican right wing Christians are just as scary as the Muslim radicals.

The Christian nuts want to string Obama up and its all they ever talk about. Listen to all of these Republican radio stations in the evenings, it's absolute obsession with this birth certificate thing.

I don't think Obama is anything special but having said that, this Romney-Ryan team doesn't give me any level of comfort either. At least we haven't heard from that scumbag Cheney lately. I guess he will surface at the convention along with that revolting Rumsfield. What a pair.

Agreed. Such is the power of absolute belief that things are black and white, right or wrong, good or evil.

Saw an old episode of Just for Laughs on CBC last night and it had an American comedian joking that some Americans couldn't understand how their "oil got under Iraq's sand".

Was talking about this with my pastor earlier today. Republican right wing radicals have driven more people away from Christianity than any other movement in history.

Have you seen the birth announcement in person or did you just see it "reprinted" by a MSM outlet? Same with the so-called birth certificate. Again I'm no birther but let's look at the evidence here. And I'm no racist. Hating B. Hussein Obama has never been about the color of his skin for me. I hate the left winged extremist policies of his regime. Besides, truth be told is that I used to prefer black men back in my experimental college years.

Left winged extremist policies? You mean the ones that would put him to the right of Stephen Harper if he tried implementing them in Canada?

OK, first things first. When you refer to it as a "so-called birth certificate", you're tipping your hand as to what side of the fence you sit on.

Second of all, of course I haven't seen the birth announcement in person. It's in a newspaper from 1961. I'm inclined to believe the Hawaiian newspaper on this though, since the alternative is that they are engaged in some vast Orwellian conspiracy to keep a foreigner in the White House for some strange reason.

Third of all, I agree with you. Let's look at the evidence. Obama has a short form birth certificate and a long form birth certificate, both certified by the state of Hawaii. They have been examined by dozens of impartial experts in person, have been photographed extensively, and are without a doubt legitimate. Obama also has a birth announcement printed in a Hawaiian newspaper in 1961. The newspaper itself has verified it's authenticity, and no one, not even the birther community, doubts it's authenticity. The claim now is that the Obamas printed the announcement in the Hawaiian newspaper in '61 so they could prove he was born in America. They never say why on earth they would do this, and they never make mention that a newspaper announcement by itself would NEVER hold up in a court of law.

Now I ask you, if 2 certified birth certificates and a birth announcement aren't enough to convince you, what would be? What other evidence could be shown to you that would be anywhere near as compelling as the evidence you already have? If this was about a white man named Barry Johnson, would this ever have become an issue? Would Republicans have pressed nearly as hard for proof of birth?

If you have evidence that the birth certificates and the newspaper announcements are forgeries, I invite you to post it. I'll be more than happy to shoot it full of holes and make you look stupid.
