One of the best entertainers the WWF/WWE has ever see. Planning to watch "They Live" on blu-ray soon. Rest in Peace.

An all-time great... and even then, wildly underrated. If it wasn't for him the landscape of wrestling today would likely be totally different. In the lead up to the first WrestleMania things were not going well at all until the last month or two when Piper almost singlehandedly put it over the top with his heel work. Hulk Hogan may have become the face of wrestling, but as Piper said years later "Do you think [the fans] would've loved you so much, if they hadn't hated me?".

If that WrestleMania would have flopped, Vince McMahon and WWF would have been pretty much wiped out, and who knows how things would have evolved. If for nothing but that alone his legacy can't be understated, but his body of work beyond that is legendary.

Piper was easily the best on the mic cos he could speak his mind off the cuff and be wildly entertaining. He also had the ability to shoot and say stuff that no other guy in the room could or would dare to say. Yet at times he could be poignant like this one, which is prophetic..

Terrific story with a sad ending. I haven't been a wrestling fan for a while now but I was as a kid in the 80's and during the Attitude era. But I do find their stories interesting as hell. Rest in peace Roddy.

Rowdy Roddy was probably my favourite wrestler of all time. Not great in the ring but there was no one like him on the mic.

And he was ridiculously funny....could easily have been a stand up comedian had he not chose wrestling.

My favourite Roddy moment was him interviewing himself on one of those old Coliseum Videos. I'll try and find it...
